Workshops and classes

SPRING   2017

Introductory workshops

Monday February 6th, 7 – 9pm, Pensilva, Millenium House (Committee Room)

This workshop will introduce you to the basic principles of the Alexander Technique. We will explore how you can change poor habits of posture and movement (for example, how we walk, bend, sit and stand), and learn a lying down relaxation technique (please bring a mat or blanket to lie on), which helps reduce muscular pain in the back, neck and shoulders. The workshop is suitable for all ages.

Contact Janet Wright to reserve a place at the workshop (£5)or to find out more.

Regular classes

You are warmly invited to my Alexander Technique classes, held in different venues around Cornwall and Devon.  They will inform you about what the Alexander Technique is, and how it can be applied, both to daily life, and to more specialised activities.

While most people take one-to-one Alexander Technique lessons, group classes are good as an introduction to the Technique.  You will learn a lot from observation of yourself and others in group and paired exercises, and the feedback sessions are very useful.

The classes are practical, involving gentle movement, discussion, and demonstration.  Please wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing.  We work in socked/bare feet.
