Taking Alexander Technique lessons

In your Alexander Technique lessons you will learn how to make better use of your body and your mental faculties.The lesson involves positive, thoughtful dialogue, and simple activities such as sitting, standing, and walking.  Together, we will also apply the Technique to activities that are particular to your life-style, whether at work, at home, or in leisure pursuits.

Through use of verbal and gentle hands-on guidance, you will learn how to release excess tension, and undo unhelpful physical habits.

How many lessons will I need?

It is recommended that, initially, 2 or 3 lessons are taken in order to assess whether the Alexander Technique is for you.  After that, it depends on the individual’s circumstances and needs.   Progress is reviewed on a regular basis with clients, which includes discussions about further lessons.
